NARCES isn't a traditional bridal boutique. We're a Toronto design house and atelier, which means you're working close to the people designing, fitting and making your gown.

You can begin with one of our designs and make it distinctly yours, or bring us an idea, a feeling, even the beginning of a dream. We bring our design point of view to yours, then engineer it into a gown that feels completely personal.

We think of custom bridal as a kind of emotional architecture: silhouette, structure, movement and detail built around how you want to feel in one extraordinary moment, and what you want to remember when you look at that gown years from now.

Because we design and produce locally, we also have an unusual amount of flexibility. More possibility. Fewer bridal rules.

How far in advance should I begin my wedding gown?

Ideally, 9–12 months before your wedding. That gives us the greatest creative freedom, particularly if your gown involves specialty fabrics, intricate handwork or extensive customization.

Have less time? Don't disappear quietly into the night. Ask us.

Because NARCES designs and produces in Toronto, we can often work with timelines that would be difficult within a traditional bridal production model.

My wedding is only a few months away. Am I too late?

Not necessarily.

We consider orders within 12 weeks potentially rush. Depending on the design and our atelier schedule, we may be able to work within considerably shorter timelines.

Rush fees of 15–30% may apply when expedited production is required.

Ask us before assuming it's impossible. We like solving interesting problems.

How much does a custom NARCES wedding gown cost?

Custom NARCES wedding gowns begin at $4,000 CAD.

At that starting point, think beautifully pared-back custom design: a strong silhouette, beautiful fabrication and a gown created specifically around you.

Signature NARCES gowns incorporating corsetry, sculptural construction, hand embellishment, 3D florals, crystals, intricate embroidery or more complex fabrication are quoted individually based on the design.

We discuss pricing with you before moving forward, so the creative process begins with an understanding of both your vision and the scope of the gown.

Do I have to choose an existing NARCES wedding gown?

Not at all.

An existing NARCES design can be the beginning rather than the conclusion. Depending on the gown, we can explore changes to silhouette, fabrication, neckline, sleeves, embellishment and other design details.

Or we can begin somewhere entirely new.

Bring references, fragments of ideas, things you love and even things you absolutely don't. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what your gown looks like. That's part of what we're here to discover together.

What happens during a bridal consultation?

We start with you, not a rack of dresses.

We'll talk about your wedding, the atmosphere you're creating, what you want to feel like, what you're instinctively drawn to and what you never want to be talked into wearing.

From there, we explore NARCES gowns, silhouettes, fabrics, construction and customization possibilities.

Sometimes the answer is surprisingly close to an existing design. Sometimes the conversation takes us somewhere completely new.

How much is a bridal consultation?

A private NARCES bridal consultation is $100 CAD, and the full amount is credited toward your wedding gown purchase.

Consultations are available at our Toronto studio and virtually.

The fee allows us to dedicate proper design time to your appointment and begin the conversation thoughtfully.

How many fittings will I need?

As many as the gown actually needs.

A pared-back silk gown and a highly engineered corseted gown don't require identical processes, and we don't pretend they do.

The number and timing of fittings depend on your design, level of customization, timeline and whether we're working together in Toronto or virtually. Once we understand your gown, we'll establish the fitting process that makes sense for it.

Can I work with NARCES if I don't live in Toronto?

Absolutely.

We work with brides outside Toronto and internationally through virtual bridal consultations. Depending on your gown and level of customization, much of the design process can happen remotely.

We'll discuss measurements, fittings and delivery with you based on your location and the particular gown.

Distance shouldn't automatically mean settling for something ordinary.

Can you customize one of your existing wedding dresses?

Yes. In fact, this is one of our favourite ways to work.

You might love the construction of one NARCES gown but imagine different sleeves. Or the skirt of another. Perhaps you want less embellishment, considerably more embellishment, a different neckline or a completely different fabrication.

We'll tell you what's technically possible and what we think will make the design stronger.

Customization isn't about saying yes to everything. It's about getting to the right answer together.

Do you make completely bespoke wedding gowns?

Yes.

For brides looking for something entirely their own, we can develop a gown from the beginning through our Toronto atelier.

The process is collaborative: your ideas, references, personality and wedding meet the NARCES design language and our understanding of construction, proportion and movement.

The goal isn't simply to make a dress nobody else owns. It's to make one that couldn't quite belong to anyone else.

What if I don't want to look like a “typical bride”?

Excellent. You have found the correct building. 

There is no rule that says becoming a bride means suddenly dressing like every bride you've ever seen.

NARCES bridal can be sculptural, minimal, romantic, sheer, corseted, embellished, dramatic or unexpectedly restrained. The point isn't to reject bridal tradition for the sake of it. It's to decide intentionally which parts belong to you.

And if you want a cathedral veil after all? We make those too.

Do you create second looks and reception dresses?

Very much so.

Your ceremony gown doesn't have to carry the entire evening.

NARCES second looks include minis, cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, separates, crystal pieces, feathers, corsetry and statement gowns designed for receptions, dancing and after parties.

Your second look can whisper. It can also completely change the temperature of the room.

Can you create my veil or other bridal accessories too?

Yes.

We create bridal veils, headpieces, gloves, capes, overskirts and other statement accessories, and many can be customized to work specifically with your gown.

Sometimes the accessory finishes the look. Sometimes it is the look.
